David P. Dolgen (Principal) has been active in the commercial real estate business since 1981. Prior to forming Dolgen Ventures, Mr. Dolgen was Chief Executive Officer of SVP Investments, a private equity firm with an outstanding track record of successfully investing in undervalued real estate and business opportunities. While at SVP, Mr. Dolgen’s responsibilities included all operating, investment, development and asset management responsibilities. Prior to that time, Mr. Dolgen represented Forest City Enterprises in various capacities, the most recent of which was as President of their Southwest division, Forest City Southwest. He was responsible for its development, acquisition, and capital raising activities for retail, commercial, and multi-family properties. Prior to his work with Forest City, Mr. Dolgen served as Senior Vice President of American Savings and Loan from 1979 to 1981. Additionally, Mr. Dolgen was a founder and former member of the Board of Directors of the National Bank of Arizona, former Chairman of the Tucson Arizona Mayor’s Task Force for Economic Development and Chairman Elect of the Greater Tucson Economic Council. Mr. Dolgen has served on, chaired, and participated with numerous community, business and government boards in Arizona and California including: the Pima County and the City of Tucson Bond Committees, the Angel Charity for Children, the University Of Arizona Office Of Cultural Affairs, and the San Diego Advisory Board of U.S. Bank. He is the Immediate Past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the La Jolla Playhouse. Recently Mr. Dolgen has founded Housing Impact Managers, LLC, of which he is the Principal. This entity’s mission is to “do well by doing good”, a fundamental tenet of social impact investing. Housing Impact Managers focuses on deploying for-profit private equity in the acquisition, rehabilitation, re-selling and leasing of distressed residential housing. This is coupled with the social mission of providing opportunities for qualified working families to secure affordable and sustainable solutions to their housing needs, thereby encouraging both stabilized family and neighborhood environments. Mr. Dolgen is a graduate of George Washington University.
